Boeing’s Vice President of International Corporate Communications, Charlie Miller, to present at the Forum

Charlie Miller, Vice President of Boeing’s International Corporate Communication and famously known for breaking the news of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, will be speaking at the World Public Relations Forum in Melbourne in November.

Miller joined Boeing in 2001 as the UK Communications Director before he served as the Communications Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa for a period of five years.

Today he manages a team of country communications directors and agencies in more than 30 key markets to optimise Boeing’s corporate reputation and advance stakeholder relationships.

Prior to joining Boeing Miller directed corporate media relations at BAE SYSTEMS and its predecessor company, British Aerospace. Originally a journalist, Miller worked with the Press Association, the UK wire service. As diplomatic and defence correspondent, he covered foreign affairs and defence for more than 10 years reporting extensively from troubled locations such as the Persian Gulf, Croatia and Bosnia. Miller was awarded “UK Scoop of the Year” for breaking the news of the death of Princess Diana.

The Forum’s program will address questions including:

  • What are the boundaries for public relations and what happens when these boundaries are eroded or removed?
  • How do global relationships of culture, economics, ideas and people influence public relations and communication practice?
  • What are the implications for practice when public relations and communication move beyond traditional borders?
  • How is communication changing our world? And how must public relations and communication professionals adapt?

Sessions have been developed across these broad streams:

  • Leadership and advocacy – sessions with thought leaders who are guiding, influencing and leading public relations and communication management.
  • Strategy and design – sharing insights, inspiration and ideas to help you to map, execute and measure best practice campaigns and programs.
  • Tactics and techniques – Practical skills and approaches to add to your professional toolkit.
